Generate leads means to create more traffic on the door steps of the company by adapting some well worked out marketing strategies .There was a time when companies used to buy leads but as the technology has changed the fashion in which the business processes work, the customers are just a click away from the company provided if every step for success is taken very intelligently by the company in procuring more target customers. One should really be innovative and think unconventional to take an edge over other companies in generating leads. 

Lead generation can be achieved in many ways and one such way is to procure the database of the telephone subscribers from a telecom company and then make calls to them and convince them to buy the products, services and schemes that the company is offering. Moreover the call representatives of the company should have a protocol while talking to a customer because the customer wasn’t expecting this type of a call, so in a nutshell these calls should not frustrate the customer. Also the database should have only those people who have a probability of being penchant towards the schemes or products or services that the company is offering to generate leads.

The company should generate leads by conducting a survey amongst the residents of a local area to know their interest in any schemes or products which their daily life lacks to offer them at present. The residents whose survey forms show more inclination towards the schemes similar to what company is trying to offer, the company representatives should make a call to them and win the target customers .The job of attracting more customers to generate leads is the job of the marketing wing of the company .The  company  should give its level best in each step to increase its visibility amongst customers. Even the logo of the company should be attractive.
Internet is a vast ocean to generate leads for the company. The company can release newsletters and articles in e-magazines and generate more traffic for itself. The articles and newsletters of the company will focus on the schemes the company is trying to sell and every time a viewer clicks on the articles and the newsletters of the company the traffic will be diverted towards the company’s website.

The company can also give its advertisements in other websites where once the viewer views the advertisement and clicks on it, the traffic gets diverted towards the company’s website. This will help generate leads. Blogging is also a nice way to generate traffic for the company because the company can post its articles on its thought process and its interfacing with its customers.  The viewers can post comments on the articles posted by the company and hence a database of the probable target customer is built up. 
The company should not market itself in a way below its standards by resorting to cheap stunts of publicity. This would hamper the growth of the company in the long-run and that would be catastrophic. Leads, once generated, should be used efficiently and with intelligence and bring profits in the company.
