What Is Mlm
Blog Post Date: Sep 01, 2009
What is MLM? MLM is known as Multi-level marketing (MLM) or commonly network marketing. In MLM the business owner is involved in the process of recruiting other independent distributors into his or her network. These distributors or prospects are known as MLM leads because they want to be a part of this business opportunity and have shown some interest in it. The MLM leads are generally comprised of the business owner’s friends, family and acquaintances. Once the collected resources gets finished, the business owner is involved in the process of uncovering new prospects. This whole process is known as MLM lead generation, quite costly and time consuming as well.
With mlm, you tend to leverage your time by teaching other people so that they duplicate your efforts. If done right, one can have a strong base of residual income within 3-5 years. In traditional businesses, individuals re paid for the sales they continuously make. In mlm, individuals are paid to make a few sales and teaching others to do the same. In MLM people are credited for the sale up to many levels which may not always be the case with network marketing. Network marketing simply means referral marketing or word of mouth regardless of the levels. It is worth noting that network marketing and mlm are often used interchangeably. In summary, mlm or network marketing requires an individual to show a few people how the company works, the opportunity and the products. Individuals who love the concept will then join the team either buying products or any other qualification depending on the company in question. People who join are now known as down lines and the person who introduced/recruited them is their up line. The up line trains his down lines to duplicate his effort and the cycle continues. These down lines form his organization and he will always be credited for the sales they make. Through this process, the business owner finds marketing information for MLM leads, which are then contacted through communication networks including telephone and email. The target lists may be obtained from advertising campaigns that promote the product to potential customers and possible recruits and they can also be acquired through MLM lead generation tools. MLM business owners typically utilize a couple of unique methods, during MLM lead generation to attain these viable MLM leads. If completed correctly, a MLM lead generation program will include a combination of effective offline and online tools in order to ensure that leads progress positively and effectively from initial contact through sales closure and recruitment. This includes purchasing or licensing lead lists which the distributor utilizes in his or her email, telemarketing, or direct mail campaigns. An MLM lead batching program is a more inclusive process for MLM lead generation. In this process, the business owner will work the leads through various advertising campaigns which help in recruiting customers and recruits, but also invite them to build their very own network. Through this effective and complete program, the business owner can build his or her own network and help recruits build their network as well. |
